PCORI is a fee that insurers or sponsors of self-insured health plans pay annually to fund the federal Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) trust fund. Self-insured employers are required to pay the PCORI form via Form 720 directly to the IRS.

The PCORI fee applies to health plans for the preceding calendar year.
